- You wrote too less about your crystal-oscillator. But I believe I see
- your problem: The oscillator can not allways start or it starts with
- a higher harmonic frequency. The gain is to less with basic crystal-
- frequency. Perhaps you have a highpass between the first and second gate
- of the 74HC00. In this case, it's possible the cornerfrequency of this
- highpass is too high. Another ting, can it bee the 1 M-Ohm resistor
- makes with a parasit-capacity a lowpass which also can reduce the needed
- gain with basic crystal-frequency?
