  11. I'm working on a project that requires a switched 14 Mhz oscillator.
  12. I am currently using a 14 Mhz crystal, a 1M feedback resistor and a
  13. couple of capacitors on a 74HC00. My problem is that the oscillator
  14. will occasionally either not start or oscillate at a higher harmonic.
  15. When it does work the output is also pretty feeble so I know I'm doing
  16. something wrong.

  18. I would prefer not using a commercial canned oscillator because this
  19. project is pretty cost sensitive. Anyone have any suggestions on what
  20. I should be doing?

  22. Even though I read this group often please email any responses as I will
  23. be out of town for a while and most likely miss any posts because of the
  24. short expiry time on this machine.
