- Some fast-chargers for NiCd powered RC model racing cars first discharge the
- NiCd batteries to minimize "memory" effects, then charge the batteries at about
- 2.5 A. The charger monitors the rise in voltage. After about two minutes, the
- battery will approach its operating voltage. It will go up about 2 more volts
- in 20 minutes. When the voltage begins to drop, the charger will change to a
- trickle charge, and the battery is ready to use. These batteries are usually in
- the range of 7.2 volts and 1 to 2 AH.
