  22. In 1981 the Biospheric Incorporated, an environmental and health sciences'
  23. firm in Rockville (Maryland), got a patent for "left-handed" sugars (s. [2]).
  24. This product, named "Lev-O-Cal", is sweet as sugar, but have no calories,
  25. because the organism  -microorganisms (no caries !) and humans-  can't
  26. utilize this form of chemical energy.
