- I wonder if anyone can assist me with a mathematical astronomy problem.
- I've looked through all the books I have access to, and can find no
- mention of this problem.
-
- Basically, I'm looking for an equation giving the approximate visual
- magnitude of the moon as a function of its phase and distance.
-
- Sounds like a simple problem, but I suspect it's not. Any advice would be
- appreciated.
