- I have seen several "cabinet" saws that bolt the arbor to structural
- members inside the case, making it independent from the table top.
- The carriage is not bolted to a sheep metal enclosure, but to a
- structural framework to which the table top is also bolted.

- The advantage is that the table top can be loosened and moved with
- respect to the arbor (for instance, to align the blade to the
- miter guage slots). It is quite easy to move the table alone and
- set the alignment. It is much more difficult to move the arbor
- with respect to the table in a saw that bolts the arbor to the
- table saw, like most contractor's saws do.
