  12. As some may remember, I am (still) in the process of building
  13. a 3-phase converter.   I've finally gotten to the point where 
  14. everything is in a metal box and wired together, but when I 
  15. try kick starting the rotor moter's spindle up to speed and hitting
  16. the (single-phase) power, the rotor locks and just humms.

  18. I know this motor is good because it was tested when I bought it.
  19. COuld I not have enough capacitance in the circuit??  Right now I 
  20. have 24 mfd for a 15 HP rotor.  Should the capacitance be in the
  21. circuit upstream or downstream from the motor, or doesn't it matter?
