- Happy Holidays-
-
- Back in July, I posted to the net for info on windsurfing in Bonaire.
- In the replies, a few of the people wanted me to post how my trip went.
- (I went for a week over Christmas, got back dec. 27).
-
- The trip was great. Only got two days of windsurfing in sailing on
- a Bic electric? (not sure about the name, it was 8'8" long) with a 5.2
- sq.m. sail. I sailed on Lac Bay as the good folks on the net advised
- me to do at Ernst's "Windsurfing Bonaire". When the breeze was good
- it was aneasy-going place to sail. Ernst had a large selection of gear
- and it was not too crowded. I think at the most there were 10 boards
- on the water at one time. The bic was a very comfortable board to sail.
-
- When the wind was not so good the snorkeling on the leeward side is
- very impressive. We stayed at Sand Dollar. There is no beach, but
- steps lead down to the calm water when you want to dive, etc. Great
- Place!
-
- The locals on the island were the friendliest of any island I have been
- on. I guess this is because Bonaire is not totally swamped with tourists
- yet. I sure hope it stays that way.
-
- Well Back to work- depressing thought after 8 days of sun and fun.
