  35.  NTSC is American TV standard, PAL is an Europian standard, and
  36. SECAM is Socialists' standard. I'm afraid that HDTV follows this
  37. chaos. Japan introduced first HDTV system `Hi-Vision' in early 80s
  38. to unify HDTV; it doesn't have any big compatibility to every TV
  39. standards but has possibilities to convert from any TV standrads
  40. at less memoies totally and many constants are conducted from
  41. ergonomics.... But most easy way to upgrade TV is to just twice
  42. the number of lines. To say, it's the Tower of Babel!

  58.  There are many ways to convey color video signal. Easiest way is to
  59. complex chroma and lumina -- like TV broadcasting and RCA yellow plug,
  60. using composite video signal. Another way is to use component signal.
  61. A S-video connecter has 2 sockets, one for chroma, one for lumina.
  62. This is good for improving picture. (The BEST way is RGB digital connect)
  63.  Complexing signals is no good: Uncomplexing needs filters, and
  64. filtering does harm. (Try S sources like Hi8 camera recorded video
  65. on your TV by S-video connected! This WILL take you to the
  66. Hi-definition video world; To see is to believe)
