- I'm hoping someone might have a cure for this.. . .
-
- I am now on my second 27" Panasonic TV in a month. The problem
- is that the screen seems to be "gaussing" or getting magnetized. The
- problem is most noticeable near the corners of the screen. If an all white
- picture is being displayed, there will be noticeable areas of gray about
- 4" in diameter centered about 3" out of the corners. I can't find any
- "de-gaussing" button on the unit (I have seen this on a few Sonys) and
- cycling power on the unit doesn't seem to help. I am guessing that the internal
- speakers (the "dome sound" system) are either too near the screen, improperly
- shielded, or both.
-
- When I brought the first set back the sales person couldn't do much more than
- confirm my suspicions of gaussing and give me another set to try. I really like
- the TV in every other respect, but if I can't find a way to remedy this I'll
- be digging a few more pennies out of the bank and getting a Sony.
-
- Any remedies, insight, etc would be much appreciated !
