- Several ways....
-
- (poster asked for ways to copy NTSC tape to PAL).
-
- If you have a VCR that connects to a PAL tv but plays NTSC tapes (as in
- strictly PAL tv) it means that the VCR does NTSC->PAL translation and
- outputs a PAL-recognised signal. So, just connect to another VCR using
- RCA cables - VideoOut to VideoIn, AudioOut(s) to AudioIn(s). Viola!
-
- If you *don't* than you may want to consider something like Aiwa's VCRs
- that are pushed as having translation electronics that do digital
- conversion between formats (supposed to be better than normal ones) and
- allows you to convert between any format to any other format. This VCR
- costs SGD1000+ or about 600 USD. My quick-and-dirty playback-only Sony
- NTSC on PAL tv VCR cost only SGD350 or 200+ USD.
-
- Another option if you have a NTSC playback or multisystem playback VCR
- that connects to a multisystem tv (where the tv accepts NTSC and hence
- there is no PAL signal to use) without any form of conversion to PAL,
- would be to buy an inexpensive (40-50 USD) converter (NTSC -> PAL). The
- tv will still display picture (since it is multisystem) and you should
- be able to plug into a PAL Recording VCR.
-
- E-mail me if you are confused. IMHO the above work. I may stand
- corrected nonetheless.
