- Whereas VHS-C is just the same VHS tape in a smaller cartridge, 8mm is a
- completely different format and there's no way you could get the VHS
- mechanism to read the 8mm tape. Patching in from your camcorder or buying
- an 8mm player is the way to go. I often edit onto VHS (despite loss in
- resolution) so I can play the tapes on other people's machines. It's too
- bad 8mm hasn't become more dominant in VCR's.
