- Hi everyone, Merry Christmas from Japan!

- | A recent Video Magazine previews a new Sony Hi8 camcorder (no US model
- |number yet except "Handycam Pro" or something generic like that) with 3 CCDs
- |and a 12x zoom. The thing looks small and is presumably available in Japan
- |and in Europe already. Does anyone know the weight? From the photograph
- |it looks like it has AFM stereo (no PCM stereo). TBC is not mentioned.
-
- Yes, what you mention is CCD-VX1. It weighs nearly 2000g with
- S88 NiH battery. Imagine V801 has come with 3CCD. I think I posted
- an article on it before. It doesn't have PCM but has enough AFM
- stereo. I'm having one and enjoying it! I REALLY recommend it.
- Also, Panasonic has released palm top size 3CCD SVHS-C corder,
- which has TBC, but I prefer VX1.(Both have 530 horizontal lines
- resolution)
-
- | The same issue also lists the Criterion Monty Python's Holy Grail
- |with a Japanese soundtrack on the analog channels (?? Actually, not a bad
- |idea, marketwise. Imagine the fun watching it in Japanese.)
-
- Is some kind of Japanese TV on air in Bay area?
