- By all reports the CLD-52 is a superb player. The 'legato link'
- d/a decoding, in spite of Pioneer's Ad Dept. hype is supposed to
- improve CD playback.
-
- Yes, I use the digital effects. A LOT. Level one use is to just
- backup a bit "Did he say what?", Level two use is to scan a long
- distance "Let's find all the places where Sam encounters the Samurai
- Warrior", Level three use is to study text (credits, subtitles, all
- the posters in the background of BRAZIL), Level four use is to study
- slow motion details, e.g. animation or special effects. Level one is
- used most frequently and level four the least.
-
- Of course, when I go to a real theater and see real film I have to
- actually devote 100% of my attention to the screen -if I miss anything
- I can't grab the jog-shuttle on the remote :-). So not having digital
- effects may not be so bad.
