- If you don't want to pay the extra $4-5, you might as well save another
- X amount of dollars by not paying the Hi8MP price. You can easily convert
- a regular 8mm MP tape into a Hi8 MP tape. Just look at the back of the
- two tapes, notice one of the extra sensing holes in the Hi8 tape. Using a
- sharp pointed instrument (I use a metal letter opener) carefully punch out
- the hole in the 8mm tape. You now have a Hi8 tape. I see absolutely no
- difference in quality between the "real Hi8 MP" and the "fixed" 8mm tapes,
- I do see a markedly better picture quality compared to a regular 8mm.
