  14.   We're going to Ecuador for three weeks - leaving Jan 7.  We plan to spend
  15. a week in a language school in Quito to brush up on Spanish and then travel 
  16. through the Sierra from north to south.  Probably won't get to the
  17. coast, Amazonia or the Galapagos on this trip.

  19.   If anyone has any recent news on Ecuador that you'd be willing to
  20. share, I'd be most appreciative (e-mail or posted).  I'm especially interested
  21. in hotel recommendations (<$10/night) and travel to Ingapirca.

  23.   I've heard there is an increase in robberies of tourists.  If anyone has
  24. recent info or suggestions (other than the usual precautions) please write.
