  13.    A year or two ago I read a letter to the editor of a major newspaper
  14. travel magazine from an American couple who had been the victims of a
  15. road hold-up at gunpoint in Saint Martin.  Sorry I don't remember the
  16. paper, but I recall that the writer implied that such crimes were common
  17. there and that the police were less than helpful.
