  27.   Right after the hurricane, I think they said that a lot of
  28.   the birds were hanging around.  I'm not sure what happened
  29.   to them. (I just called the Zoo and heard a recorded message.)

  31.   The koalas were sent up to Busch Gardens in Tampa.
  32.   Evidently, all the Eucalyptus trees were destroyed as was
  33.   their climate controlled habitat. They wouldn't be able to
  34.   survive at Metro Zoo right now.

  36.   Elephants are still there (saw them on the news).

  38.   As a thank you to all those who helped put Metro Zoo back
  39.   together, admission is free to all through Dec. 25.
  40.  
  41.   On a sad note, the tiger area has been renamed in memory of a
  42.   12 year old girl who used to be a volunteer at the zoo and
  43.   was killed in the hurricane.
