- I couldn't agree with you more; But why stop at AAD's? Let's get rid
- of these other gadgets that were developed to enable incompetents to
- jump:
-
- RESERVE STATIC LINE:
- This potentially creates a hazard in canopy wraps, and if someone isn't
- capable of pulling a reserve after doing a cutaway, they shouldn't be
- jumping in the first place.
-
- RAMAIR CANOPIES:
- These were developed to enable people who couldn't learn to compensate
- for wind drift, and who couldn't learn to do a PLF; i.e. wimps.
-
- RESERVE CANOPIES:
- Early jumpers didn't need them, (e.g. Tiny Broadwick), so why do we
- need them? Probably for people who either aren't bright enough to
- pack a parachute properly, or are to lazy to do it right, and need
- a properly-packed canopy to fall back on. We don't need either of
- these turkeys in the air with us.
-
- I propose we get rid of all these crutches and training wheels, and
- soon through the process of survival-of-the-fittest, (i.e. bounces),
- we will weed out the marginal jumpers and reduce the skydiving
- community to an elite group of highly proficient jumpers we can be
- proud to be a part of, (assuming we all survive).
