- BB> Don't most S/L DZ's use a hanging exit?
-
- NOPE. Did my first S/L jump here in Canada 6 years ago doing a poised.
-
- BB>We do -- usually people fall when they are trying to swing off of the
- BB>step. What I hate is the ones who start handing before they get past
- BB>the end of the step, and WHACK their arm on the step when they DO let
- BB>go.
-
- Maybe the hanging exit would of helped the first jump student at my DZ who
- lost his two front teeth on the step of a C182. The first jump here is a
- level 1 AFF jump with 2 instructors, this guy didn't PUSH at all with his
- arms he just hopped off the step and went straight down onto it. He was
- quite a mess when he landed, looked much worse than it was.
-
- BB>Hanging exits seems less prone to "new student error" than poised exit
-
- I agree totally. (see above)
-
- Hope all you jumpers in OZ are having a great summer, just too much snow
- and too damn cold here!!! (whimper, whine etc.)
