- I couldn't disagree more. The only place that has more people who ski to be
- seen than Ketchum is Aspen. Then again, if you're used to skiing in the
- northeast, you'll be right at home; Mt. Baldy has the iciest terrain west of
- the Mississippi.
-
- Blackcomb/Whistler is far better for the die-hard skiier. It's a mile vertical
- from the base to the top of Blackcomb. In addition, it's the best place to
- demo skis. For $25, you can rent demos at the Blackcomb base (near Chateau
- Whistler) and exchange skis as often as you like.
-
- In many ways, Blackcomb is less accessible than Sun Valley; there's an airport
- in Sun Valley, or you can drive from Boise or Idaho Falls. About the only
- way to get to Whistler is to fly to Vancouver B.C. and take the Sea-to-Sky
- highway.
-
- The other ski areas that I really liked were Jackson Hole and Taos; that way
- you'll know if my opinion is helpful or not.
