  24. I consider myself an expert skier who enjoys speed, steeps, moguls,
  25. powder, etc.  I have owned both the 4S and the 7S and, in retrospect,
  26. consider the 4S a hunk of junk because it handles speed so poorly.
  27. I find the 7S as easy to ski as the 4S, but much more stable.

  29. Of course, the best advice is to demo both of them.  When I demo, I
  30. like to warm up on the demo skis, take a couple of runs on my own
  31. skis, and then take at least two more runs on the demos (of course,
  32. the number of runs depends on the length of the runs :-) If possible,
  33. demo at a ski area where you can also switch between the 4S and the 7S
  34. in the middle of the day.

  45. Any claim that world class racers are using recreational skis is
  46. simply marketing hype.  I once took a tour through the K2 factory and
  47. they openly showed the room where the real racing skis are made.  The
  48. addition of a top skin is a trivial step at the end of the
  49. manufacturing procedure.  The one possible exception is that I have
  50. heard or read claims that a recreational Volkl racing ski is a true
  51. racer.

  57. I have never skied the DV6S, but you probably should demo it.
  58. However, having seen racers yahoo'ing down the slopes, I suspect that
  59. it is marketing hype that this is what they are using.
