  23. "Cables" are attached to the sides of the toe-plates.  Yes, they are
  24. useable with the Voile release system (why not?  they're made by the
  25. same company).  Story I heard was that the design was thought up 40
  26. odd years ago by some Norweigian fellow, but only got put into
  27. practice (here, at least) last year.
