- OK, But let's say we add some challenge to quad chair skiing so that
- only the truly deserving get to ski the great powder....
-
- Set-up a quad chair that begins in a tranquil flat like say
- bottom of Brekenridge that wisks you on up the 10%
- slope at a low elevation. Then the liftee looks up ahead
- to the spot that appeared to be the lift termination
- which is in fact a warming hut passing below. At this point
- the quad towers raise to 100'+ and continues up towards sheer
- granite cliffs with small patches of snow clinging to the rock.
-
- As the quad victim.. er ah.. occupant peers over the summit
- he is *not* greeted with a long smooth perfectly groomed run-out
- with the lift gracefully comming to a near stop for easy
- de-chairing. But rather the velocity of the lift doubles.
- The skier (no longer a liftee as the as the seat bottom
- pivots to 90% and dumps the occupant) now faces an array of
- corni (is this plural for cornice?), chutes and cliffs
- depending on wind other weather related factors.
-
- From here the process of natural selection help to fairly
- determine who enjoys the beautiful powder tracked only
- by several rolling sitzmarks.
