- Yep

- Mostly Blue and Green runs. They may have some as Black but don't believe
- them, they are notorious in the Midwest for over rating difficulty.

-
- Spirit Mountain is owned by the city of Duluth and you get a terrific view
- of the harbor, Lake Superior, and the city itself. Food and lodging is in
- your site. Try Grandmas at the lakefront for good food and nightly
- entertainment.

- Gee whiz Wally why not travel west about fifty miles to Hibbing and see the
- worlds largest open pit mine or to Eveleth and see the Hocky Hall of Fame.

-
- The reason is fairly simple. It is a marketing ploy. There are no mountains
- in any of the above mention states. Spirit Mountain has about 500 vertical
- feet of skiing. Most areas in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan average
- under that for vertical. The area with the most vertical is Lutsen, which
- is an hour or two North of Duluth. Even further North at Thunder Bay you
- can get vertical feet in the range of 700-800(I'm a bit rusty on that fact
- since it was fifteen years ago).
