- I have seen them. They were fairly popular with some back-country/snow-camping
- fanatics I skiied with in the late 70's, early 80's. I always wanted to get
- an extra set of boots and put them on my back-country skis. I never got a
- "round tuit".

- This is the type of binding I have on my back country skis. It is VERY stable,
- though others say the "heel indexing plate" is "better". I found that with
- the cable bindings and high top hicking or skiing boots, I could effectively
- ski with a 50 lb pack (soft frame). I haven't seen any cable bindings in 8 or
- 10 years. (Like in downhill, cables may be a thing of the past. This is
- called "PROGRESS" :-) )
