- As William says, probably not from Kent.

- Ski resorts in Scotland include Cairngorm (near Aviemore),
- Glenshee, Glencoe, Aonach Mor (or Nevis Range, near Ben Nevis) and
- the Lecht. This year, unusually, there has been a lot
- of snow. However it can all melt in a few days if there is
- warmer weather. The weather is much more extreme than is
- usual in the Alps; high winds can close chairlifts, blow
- the snow straight off the pistes and generally make skiing
- unpleasant. Various expensive (0898) ``ski hot-lines'' will give
- you weather and ski reports at the centers. Also I believe
- snow reports are on cee-fax.
-
- If anyone is considering a trip up to Scotland (conditions
- are better later in the year e.g. March/April) then they might
- want to phone 0800-838-166 now for a ``free colour brochure''
- called Ski Scotland 92/93 . I have seen a copy of what I think
- they are giving away and it is basically an 8-page colour
- newspaper which was not stunningly useful but should at least
- have some useful phone numbers. Of course you are likely
- to get junk mail from this.....(advertised in yesterday's
- Scotland on Sunday newspaper).
-
- The local tourist offices are usually quite helpful on
- accomodation and have lists of B&B's/hotels etc. and
- I think they will book for you for a small fee.
