- Probably not. Another way you can cheat on skates is to take very
- short strides. This will minimize the time spent resting on both
- skates, but you won't necessarily get a good workout. My problem right
- now is that my cardiovascular condition is better than my skating
- ability (i.e., my legs, back, hips, etc. get tired before my heart and
- lungs do), so it is hard for me to skate for extended periods of time
- at an intensity level suitable for a good aerobic workout. As I switch
- off between skating and cycling to work, I find that I get a better
- aerobic workout cycling than skating, even though it takes me longer to
- get to work on skates.
