- Yep - that's how I learned to tie it. Someone mentioned that there is no
- legitimate Scouting use for the knot - not true. I regularly use a hangman's
- noose to provide weight to the end of a rope so I can throw the rope over
- pipes/rafters in theatres.. much easier and safer than trying to tie a brick/
- chunk of wood/rock/c-wrench/Buick to the end of the rope for weight.
