-
- No, there's not. I might be able to work something in. Maybe work it
- in with the mention of the ftp site once that's going.

-
- The original poster's problem was financial. Thorsten is in Germany.
- He makes (and pays for) a call to England to get rec.roller-coaster. If
- a bunch of images are posted, it costs him money *before* he even knows
- what they are.
-
- Those of us at big sites with direct leased-line connections to the
- internet don't realize that some people really do pay of every character
- we type!
-

-
- Well, there's *no way* you'd ever get a rec.roller-coaster.pictures
- group to pass. That's a pretty safe bet.
-
- You could always create alt.binaries.pictures.coasters, but anyone could
- get that could also get alt.binaries.pictures.misc, so there's nothing
- gained there.
-
- >>in any case, it appears that images are not welcome in rec.roller-coaster.

- >My vote: NO.
-
- I vote YES. For those of us who get everything, it's no big deal to hop
- over to alt.binaries.pictures.misc and snag the image. And we don't
- make those paying big bucks to get rec.roller-coaster pay for things
- they may or may not want or be able to afford.
-
- Here again are Thorsten's comments, for reference:
-
- | I really appreciate Allyn posting the images of some really weird coasters,
- | but I can't afford so much traffic, because my Usenet-News feed is
- | in England and I make an international call every day to get the latest
- | news in coastermania and other interesting newsgroups.
- | If you don't mind, please put the images on a public FTP-site, so
- | everybody can get them, but do not post them to this normally non-binary
- | newsgroup.
-
- Note that he *likes* the idea of images, but can't afford to have
- rec.roller-coaster be that busy. Do we want to make users like Thorsten
- give up reading rec.roller-coaster because they can't afford it?
-
- Something to think about....
