- A mismatch won't make the feeder radiate, but an imbalance will. That's
- a separate issue. A perfectly matched antenna can still have lots of
- feeder radiation if antenna balance is not correct. That's where feeder
- routing and baluns come into play. A mismatch will only cause reflected
- waves *inside* a coax, feeder radiation requires RF currents on the
- *outside* of the coax.

- Physical balance problems with the antenna. An open wire feeder is
- inherently balanced and won't radiate unless something unbalances
- it. That could be one end of the flattop near a conductive object,
- asymetric feedpoint, etc. A perfect feedpoint impedance match won't
- cure these types of problems.
