- There are good reasons and bad reasons for doing just about anything.
- What you have to realize is that for declawing, you better have a
- really great reaon. There is a chance the cat will be no worse for
- the procedure. There is also the risk that it will be severely
- physically and emotionally damaged. I think you have a good reason,
- the well-being of other cats in your household. Another good reason
- to declaw a cat would be because it has incurable seizures and claws
- itself. In general, doing it for the cat or other defenseless
- animals, when all alternatives have been exhausted, is a good reason.
- Doing it for yourself or other powerful animals as the first attempted
- solution is a bad reason.
