- It's "gummi", NOT "gummy" -- "Gummi" (pronounce "goo-mee") is the German word
- for "gum" (as in chewing gum -- for which the german word is "Kaugummi"
- [pronounced "cow-goo-mee"], "kau" being the German word for "chew") or "rubber"
- (as in "rubbers" [the kind that go over your shoes during rainstorms, not the
- other kind] for which the German word is "Gummischuhe" ["goo-mee-shoe-eh"],
- literally "rubber shoes").
