  15. What would you do when your cat is lost ?  Two weeks ago, we let the 
  16. Q out into the back yard, which is, or so I thought, cat proof.  She
  17. hasn't returned....

  19. What we've done so far : 
  20. 1 : Made up flyers with her picture, description, and reward offer, 
  21.     which we then rubberbanded to the front door of the houses in the
  22.     neighborhood.
  23. 2 : Ad in the paper
  24. 3 : Regular checks of the animal shelter
  25. 4 : Register with Pet-Track

  27. Any other ideas ?

  29. Our cats have all enjoyed going out.  Knowing that totally indoor cats
  30. live much longer lives, and knowing how much they like going out, I 
  31. tried for the best of all worlds by trying to make the back yard into
  32. a feline paradise with "caves" and elevated sunning platforms.  It has 
  33. a six foot woooden fence with chicken wire at the top and bottom to
  34. discourage escape artists ( looks like stalag 17, with the wire canted 
  35. over at the fence top. )  We convinced them that the back yard was *good*
  36. ( tuna, treats, and kitty games out in the backyard ), and that the front 
  37. yard was *bad* ( any cat going out the front door ran into prolonged 
  38. "rain" ).  Somebody drove through the fence back in the alley, and I
  39. didn't find out until the morning....
