  32. When I was a starving art student living in the Tenderloin District
  33. of San Francisco many years ago, I opened the apartment door one fine
  34. morning.  A kitten walked in, looked around, and--basically--refused
  35. to leave. It wasn't long before he persuaded me to offer some milk
  36. and run down to the Chinese store to get him some purina.  He, Eddy,
  37. named for the street he walked in from, never left me.  Possibly my
  38. Bay Area Cat was the cat of my life.
