  17. One of the cats we're looking after while my boss is away is named Jicarita,
  18. pronounced with a hard J (the kids who named her don't speak Spanish). I
  19. gather this fairly quickly got shortened to Jiggs, probably as much for the
  20. people's sake as the cat's :-).

  22. I'm also told that as often as not she was called "B.D.", short for "Brain
  23. Dead", though since she suddenly warmed up to us a week ago, she hasn't
  24. really demonstrated behavior worthy of that name.

  26. She responds to "Jiggs" ("answers" would be too strong a word :-) ), but shows
  27. no reaction to either B.D. or Jicarita. I wouldn't either.

  29. So now, in addition to Abby and Boots, we have Jiggs and Tiger (her brother).
