  12. We used to leave our cats for 2-3 weeks at Christmas during college,
  13. but we always had someone to check on them for every day (at least
  14. thats how often they were supposed to do it!).  If you leave your
  15. cats at home I STRONGLY encourage you to hide anything that they
  16. can destroy!  Everytime we leave ours for a week or more they seem
  17. to get mad and do bad things -- like eat & knock over plants, knock
  18. over lamps, eat the couch.....  (there were pieces missing, and ours
  19. have a history of eating strange things).

  21. We have traveled with our cats too.  When they were 4-5 months we
  22. moved from Colorado to Florida; they were in a crate most of the
  23. time (we let them out once and almost wrecked, so that was that).
  24. This summer we moved from Florida to Idaho and kept the cats in
  25. crates (separate, this time).  They were much less thrilled now
  26. that they are older.  They never use the litter box (we stopped 
  27. every 2 hours to let them go and to walk the dog), and they weren't
  28. interested in water.  Our cats are purebred so I think they're a
  29. little more high-strung than most cats, so hopefully you won't 
  30. stress your kittens out as much if you do travel.  We were really
  31. worried about them, and they were just being stupid.
