- Hi all,
- I know that many cats love water and like to be around to lick up the
- remains in the shower, or drink out of the toilet etc. but my cat
- seems to be completely obsessed with water!
- Everytime I turn on the tap, Sydney runs, leaps and bounds up onto the
- counter and stares like he has never seen it and then meows pitiously
- when I don't turn on the water often enough! I left the kitchen tap
- dripping in a small steady stream the other day to see what would
- happen and he got in the sink and stood under as tho he was taking a
- shower! :) it was mighty cute and he would lick from the top too.
- Now what I am wondering is, is this normal? I mean, he didn't used to
- be like this (he is 5 mos old, male, not neutered yet, and I know he
- is part tabby, but we think he is part siamese cause he talks all the
- time, and has the body shape of a siamese). Anyway, he insists on
- fresh water EVERYTIME he wants a drink (which is quite often) and
- which becomes a pain. Would it be worth it to invest in one of those
- water feeder things? And what do I do about the sink. I don't want him
- to get into the habit of being up there all the time ( well, actually
- I think it is too late for that, he is there all the time now
- anyway...) What seems weird is that he didn't used to do this. It has
- only been in the past month or so that he started being so obssessive
- about the water.
-
- What do you think?
- (btw..he isn't dehydrated or constipated..as a matter of fact, he had
- diarhea the other day)
-
- Thanks for any info.
- Susan
