- I know skunks are legal in Arkansas, because I know a USDA licensed breeder
- who does them. They are illegal in many of the cities, though. They class
- skunks as "innately wild" along with wolves, foxes, lions, etc. It doesn't
- make a lot of sense to me to put skunks and foxes in the same class with lions
- and wolves, especially if hand-raised and descented (on the skunk). A
- descented skunk that has its vaccinations is not a threat to humans (their
- furniture, maybe). The largest red fox on record was 15 pounds. That's
- smaller than the majority of domestic dogs! Wolves at 80-100 pounds, I can
- see the concern. But even if a fox turns on you, anyone over the age of 12 can
- fight it off.
