  16. Actually, given the extreme acuity of rabbit hearing, he was
  17. probably reacting to squealing brakes a couple miles a way. Our
  18. gerbils do the same thing -- stand up, look startled, thump like
  19. crazy (we call this behavior 'dancing feet').
