  21.          Since I hail from Ansteorra, I feel that the length-of-
  22.  residence clause protects us just as well as the invitation, with less 
  23.  potential for politics.  As an additional "safe-guard", there is a 
  24.  ceremony where all non-belted fighters must be "spoken for" by a belt 
  25.  (or is that just by a peer....nope, think it's got to be a belt).  To 
  26.  the best of my knowledge, this accolade has been refused to none who 
  27.  requested it (although there *have* been some long silences before 
  28.  someone spoke up.....)
  29.      OTOH, Ansteorra has pretty smallish crown tourneys.  We tend to 
  30.  impress folks with the seriousness of entering, and most don't.  We 
  31.  have not yet had the problem of needing to reduce the tourney size.
