- Well, it's tough for me to put into words. I've never felt particularly
- suited to music reviewing simply because there are too many albums like this
- one out there, where I feel it's necessary to actually *hear* it to get any
- kind of accurate picture of what's happening. You might as well ask me why
- blue is my favorite color. :)
- But I'll try, anyway. Think of it as half of P-Funk (Bootsy and Bernie
- Worrell) being invited to a mad scientist's lab for a jammin' party. Once
- they arrive, they discover the scientist has successfully made an artificial
- being from genetic material culled from Vernon Reid, Sonny Sharrock and Joe
- Satriani (yep, that would be Buckethead, a/k/a Brian Carroll). Then bring in
- a straightforward, funk-rockin' drummer (Brain, from LimboManiacs), who doses
- everyone's punch with 500 micrograms of LSD, waits an hour or so and flips
- on the tape machines. Then bring in a DJ for some scratching duty (a Mr.
- Nathaniel P. Hall, a/k/a AF Next Man Flip), and sprinkle liberally with
- sounds made by handheld electronic games. Add Bootsy's occasional "chicken-
- of-the-sea-bone" comment/rap/vocalization, some serious B3 space and a
- six-string mantra or two, and there you have it.
- In other words, this is some serious shit. Consult your physician before
- listening! ;)
