  12. Here's another wonderful story.  I may not have the exact details right, 
  13. Because it's been many years since I read this (I think it was in the _Atlantic
  14. Monthly_....

  16. One oppressively hot summer Glenn Gould was in New York for either a recording 
  17. session or a perdormance, I forget which, and during a break in the rehearsal, 
  18. he went outside in the 90+ deg. F. weather, wearing his overcoat, heavy scarf 
  19. and gloves.  He found a little park and sat down on a bench.  A few minutes 
  20. later a policeman came along and mistaking him for a vagrant, asked him if he 
  21. had a job.  Gould replied, "Yes, I'm a musician."  The policeman said, "That 
  22. explains it", and walked off....
