- When Monokote came out sometime in the Stone Age it was :
-
- 1. Sticky on the back.
- 2. Not as durable.
- 3. Had less 'shrink factor'
- 4. All of the above.
- 5. None of the above.
-
- Anyways, at some point, around the Bronze Age, Topflite came out with
- a newer, better Monokote, and called it Super Monokote to distinguish
- it from it's sibling. This is the covering we have all come to know
- and love (ok, some of you people can substitute hate).
-
- Now, in their infinite wisdom, the marketeers who are in charge of
- this stuff have decided to drop the Super and go with just Monokote.
- If you look through your model rags over the last year or so you
- should be able to pick out the point when this happened. Two
- of the three magazines I subscrive to (Model Builder, Model Aviation,
- and Flying Models) now just refer to Monokote. I couldn't find
- an official reference to Monokote in Model Builder.
-
- I suppose that 'Super' is not a '90s term. Maybe it will now become
- Rad Monokote, or Narly Monokote. Either that or they are planning
- to come out with a newer, better Monokote and they want to call
- it Super Monokote, or maybe...
-
- Manuel.
