- Not silly at all. If you are interested I have a buddy that has an R/C
- logbook that runs on his PC!
-
- I maintain a simple log of my R/C flights, by aircraft. Basically, I keep
- track of the number of flights, duration of each flight, and what I did on
- that flight (I fly pattern planes but not competitively....yet, and I do
- like to practice the manuveres). And like full-scale logs, I keep track
- of number of landings (I guess it carried over from my full-scale
- flying!). Also, I note other than normal weather conditions (20 knot
- winds, direct crosswind, etc). I also note battery capacity and time to
- discharge in my log, so it serves a dual purpose of tracking battery life.
-
- Is it worth it? It's up to the individual. The fact that you asked about
- it tells me that you would probably find it worthwhile. I see it as a
- hobby within the hobby, and it makes for great hanger (read that garage)
- talk with my buddies when we get rained out on planned flying days! (Crashes get logged also!!!)
-
- On the other hand, I know a lot of guys whose planes never make it to 50
- flights, so why bother logging!
