  12. Even will all the high-tech stuff that can be found on the kite field,
  13. and the demands and trials of competitive flying, I still find kites
  14. and flying a simple pleasure.

  16. There is nothing quite like a gentle breeze at my back and a firm tug
  17. on the line to make the daily tensions dissolve away.

  19. When I take a new kite onto the field to try it out, it's just like
  20. when I was a boy. I'm excited and I'm nervous. I wonder how well the
  21. kite will fly. And when it does rise into the air, I feel a great deal
  22. of joy, whether it flies well or not, it doesn't matter.

  27. forward to the New Year with much anticipation and excitement.
