  25. Sorry, my instructions were poor. As you noticed from the subject
  26. we are just seeking a proper way to submit plans. There are things
  27. of concern: mail/news systems does not (yet) support graphic
  28. file formats, the other is space.

  30. The tools you need, are available on UNIX environment. some of
  31. them in PC/DOS environment, too. Step by step:
  32.  
  33. 1. uudecode is used to convert the character representation
  34.    of a binary file to a binary file. It's like converting
  35.    a hex dump back. (uudecode is available for DOS).
  36.  
  37. 2. uncompress will unpack the binary file to it's original
  38.    extent. compression was done to save space and bandwidth.
  39.    I don't have uncompress for DOS, I don't know if it exist.
  40.    The problem is that *.zip *.lzh *.zoo etc.. are not common
  41.    in UNIX world.

  43. 3. tar is an archiver from UNIX world (available for DOS,too).
  44.    it will collect many files to one "archive".
  45.  
  46. 4. In this stage there should be two postscript files. In DOS
  47.    environment you need Ghostscript to view and print,
  48.    unless you have a postscript printer to do it.
  49.    Ghostscript will support some dot matrix printers and
  50.    it's free. Look for V2.52 or newer.

  52. Steps 1,2 and 3 can be avoided by POSTing POSTscript,
  53. it just takes some more space. Posting of GIF-files
  54. needs at least the uuencoding, compression is useless,
  55. because GIF's are pretty compact already. But, reasonable
  56. sized GIF-files would reproduce only a fax-quality printouts,
  57. that's why I suggest postscipt, whenever it is available.

  60. Ghostscript somewhere, it's very useful.
