- My wife just gave me a beautiful old French poster by Faria
- (Affiches Faria, Paris) featuring a juggler named Orla.
- The poster probably dates from ca. 1900, judging by the artwork.
- The elegantly tuxedoed Orla performs four tricks in the poster:
- 1) juggling chair, stool, and newspaper (on a stick, as in a library),
- 2) juggling table, lit candle, and candlestick,
- 3) juggling cup, saucer, coffeepot and platter while seated, and
- 4) tossing top hat to top of cane balanced on forehead.
-
- If anyone has dates or other information about Orla, please let me know;
- I don't have Zeithen's book or any other historical material.
- Thanks!
