- I have just learned that a group of thirteen grade school kids from Eugene,
- Oregon, has recently been selected to juggle in Clinton's Inaugural Parade.
- They are the only group from Oregon to be going, and will be the youngest group
- participating in the parade. Now they are eagerly trying to raise funds to
- cover their airfare, room and board for the trip to Washington, D.C.
-
- The children are from Corridor Alternative School, and they have had a juggling
- program at their school for ten years. They have performed at EXPO and with
- the Flying Karamazov Brothers, and have put on shows to raise money for
- organizations such as the Children's Relief Nursery, United Way and Easter
- Seals. Their program has been recognized by the State of Oregon and the US
- Department of Education for educational excellence, and by the Kennedy Center
- for the Arts for promoting arts education.
-
- Now they need your help. Thirteen jugglers will be flying to Washington, D.C.
- January 17, and returning January 21. The estimated budget for travel and
- accommodations is $12,000. They will be juggling in the Inaugural Parade on
- January 20, and hope to meet with the Clinton and Gore children to teach them
- to juggle. Good luck, kids!
-
- I am certain that they would be grateful for any contributions, no matter how
- large or how small. Please show your support. Donations can be sent to their
- school:
-
- Corridor School Jugglers
- Corridor Alternative School
- 250 Silver Lane
- Eugene, Oregon 97404
-
- I would be happy to answer any questions and pass on any email responses to
- their coach and head teacher, Mike Garling, or you can contact him at the
- school (after Christmas break) at (503)687-3165.
-
- Thanks for helping out and supporting juggling!
