  12. If memory serves the main reason for the case length diff
  13. between the spl and mag in .357 and .44 is to prevent
  14. chambering say a .44 mag in a S&W .44 russian. The same is
  15. also true for the .357 mag, it is longer to prevent cham-
  16. bering in older .38 specials.
