- If memory serves the main reason for the case length diff
- between the spl and mag in .357 and .44 is to prevent
- chambering say a .44 mag in a S&W .44 russian. The same is
- also true for the .357 mag, it is longer to prevent cham-
- bering in older .38 specials.
